Saturday Schedule, (8a to 5p)
9am - doors open for competitors and coaches.
9:30am - doors open to the general public.
10:00am- Competition begins, (Pro - Am and Am/ Am heats only),
2:00pm - Amateur Events begin
5:00pm - Doors close
6:30pm - Doors open for the West Coast Swing/ Hustle lessons
9:00pm - Dance begins.
12midnight - Dance ends
12:20pm - Doors close.
Definitions
Pro Am - stands for a "Professional/ Amateur couple". This is a where a student dances with a teacher and only the student is being judged. Dance categories include both American Smooth and Rhythm and International Standard and Latin dances, (Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive, Samba, Paso Doble, Waltz, Tango, foxtrot, Quickstep, and V. Waltz)
Am/Am - Stands for "Amateur/Amateur couple". This is where a silver level student, (typically a male), or above dances with multiple other students ,(typically females), who are silver level or below. In this category only the lower level student is being judged. The same dances are danced as in the Pro Am categories.
Amateur events - These are regular dance couples competiting in ballroom, Salsa, and West Coast Swing events from ages 5 to 75 at various levels from Newcomer, Intermediate, and advanced in West Coast Swing and Salsa to Pre Bronze, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Gold Star levels in American and International ballroom.
